Air atomized spray and Airless spray

Air Atomized Spray

The spray gun is the primary component of the finishing system. Air atomized sprays are the manufactured instrument and precision engineered. The defined range of tasks is performed by designing each type and size of air spray. The spray guns are of two kinds regarding capacity, such as a spray gun for many hours per day and a short period daily. The paint tank's degree is considered an issue in this regard.

An air spray gun is a device that atomizes the paint and other spray materials through compressed air to put on a surface. The Air Spray Guns are operated in a controlled manner by which air and fluid penetrate the gun through different passages. The classification of spray guns can be classified into types of feed systems. The kind of material feed system The BK Groups follow, such as Suction feed, Gravity feed, and Pressure feed. Another way to classify a gun can be of internal or external mix type of air cap.

Airless spray

Airless spray in industrial spray painting services is used with high pressure, which tends to create the means of atomization with the highest fluid velocity through the small hole. The major equipment needed for industrial painting is an Airless spray gun, airless pump, high pressure, and fluid hoses. Atomization finishing of this spray generally results in a coarse surface. The factors influencing an airless spray include the atmosphere, atomizer orifice diameter, and relative velocity between the air and the fluid.

The general rule of an orifice diameter is that the larger the diameter, the larger the average droplet size in a spray. Compressed air consumption is sufficient for one-fourth to half of the air spray. Compressed air is required for airless pumps. The Fluid pressure can be from 500 to 4500 psi, where the pressure is high compared to another rush. The occurrence of overspray is more when compared to air spray. Heavy-filled fiber materials may not work in the air nozzle because the particle size is much more critical. Airless spray is mainly used in larger areas and is the fastest application with a high fluid deliverable.

What is a suction feed gun?

The suction feed guns are designed where the compressed air is streamed to create a vacuum at the air cap. The suction feed draws the materials to the gun by suction. The suction guns are limited to the smaller capacity container, and the viscosity of the material is categorized as low to medium. The fluid tip of the suction feed is slightly extended beyond the direction of the air cup, where it can be identified easily. It suits low production operations, and changing color now becomes effortless.

What is a gravity feed gun?

In a gravity feed gun, the flow of the material comes out with the help of gravity. Here the materials travel downwards due to gravity. The fluid outlet is seated at the bottom of the cup. The capacity of the cup is up to 32 ounces because of weight and balance. These guns are mainly helpful for small applications and to spray smaller areas. It requires less air than the other feed guns. This gun will be overs pray in a small amount.

What is a pressure feed gun?

The pressure feed guns are designed where the face of the air cap and the fluid tip is profuse. The spraying paint or other materials must be pressurized in a separate pump or tank. The paint's viscosity determines this gun's internal size, and several sizes are available. The fluid needle sits upon the inside of the air cap. The spraying materials come out with the help of positive pressure. The atomization of the air cap occurs when the pressure forces the paint through the fluid tip of the gun. A pressure feed gun is used when there is a requirement for fast application, when there is a larger quantity of spraying paint to be applied, and if the spraying materials are very heavy to be tapped from the container.

What is an external mix air cap?

External refers to an outside air cap in which air atomization and fluid are mixed outside. The first stage in atomization happens when the air comes from an annular ring of air nozzle mixed up with the fluid stream's expansion. The outer mix air cap is mainly used for fast drying paints and is also suitable for all spraying materials.

What is an internal mix air cap?

The internal mix cap combines the air and materials into the air cap before ejecting them. The internal air nozzles have a round hole from which the paint sprays. When the paint material comes out from the air nozzle, it will expand and accord to a shape as the air nozzle regulates it. The internal mix cap is used when the volume and air pressure are low and the materials take a long time to dry. When the spraying contractor operates this air cap, the finish will be high quality.
